Simple Micellar Cleansing Water

Friday, 26 February 2016

Micellar waters are the biggest thing in skincare recently. From Bioderma to Garnier, almost every skincare brand has one. Simple has always been one of my favourite skin care brands and when I saw the had one, I really wanted to try it. I was apprehensive as I had already tried the Garnier and it broke me out pretty bad.

Battle Of The Beauty Blenders*

Wednesday, 15 July 2015

I've been wanting to try a beauty blender for ages. Since I didn't want to commit and buy the really expensive one I decided to try out a few budget ones first. I was in pennys recently and saw they had a beauty blender on sale for something like 1.50. I bought it and tried it out, and I found that it applied my foundation to a really natural finish, that wasn't very high coverage. The next three were I trio* I received from bornpretty.com (Pssst! Theres a discount code RELG10 if you want to try them out too!). I also found that these three blenders left me with a very natural looking finish to my foundation compared to my usual real techniques buffing brush. I think these are great for days when you want something more natural and light. However I do find it a bit more messy and fiddly than just using a brush.

I will probably stick to my buffing brush for the future. I will continue to use them and try to get the hang of them. They're main selling point for me was how well and seamlessly they blend out anything. Let it be foundation, highlight, contour etc.

How do you Feel about beauty blenders?

Some Great Summer Products

Wednesday, 27 May 2015

Summer is fast approaching and I've started to break out some products that I loved last summer and some that I know I will love this summer coming. A product that I love is the Essence silky touch blush in the shade autumn peach. Its a gorgeous coral shade which isn't too overpowering. It was a staple in my makeup routine last year, and I'm sure it will be again this year. Next is the seventeen skin wow! highlighter, I've spoken very highly about this already. Theres a full review here
This Revlon nearly naked foundation may look about 2939232 shades too dark for me but its actually a pretty good shade for when i'm tan. I can't wait to give this a proper trial run over the summer. Finally I have the seven shimmer bricks in gold bronze. I've spoken about these before. They're frickin' amazing. Between this and the skin wow! highlighter, it greats the dynamic duo of all highlighters. Trust me, its good.

What are you're favourite summer beauty products?

Lush Haul

Wednesday, 18 March 2015

About a week ago I went into Lush and bought some of their stuff for the first time. I didn't go too mental even though I did want to. I bought the dragon egg bath bomb mainly because it smelled like refreshers. This is actually the only one I've used so far, and I did really really like it. It had little confetti bits in it and when they dissolved were really moisturising. The only down side with this was it did my bath water yellow. An unfortunate colour for a bath if you ask me!
The next thing I picked up was the Amandopondo (try saying that three times fast) bauble bar. I haven't used this yet, but this has the most gorgeous rose scent to it which I just absolutely love!
Finally I bought the Avobath bath bomb. Again, I haven't used this yet but it smells AMAZING! This one is actually aimed towards people who suffer from dry skin, so its right up my street. One of my friends actually told me this is great if you have sore muscles, so if you're the sporty time you might really like this.
When I was paying at the till the girl asked me if I wasted to add in this tiny little tub of moisturiser for €1 and the money would go to charity. I decided why not, it was only a euro after all and I have to say it was a great decision. I really really love this! I'm definitely going to pick up the full size the next time I get up there. Its probably the most moisturising thing i've ever used. A tiny bit goes such a long way too.

What should I pick up next time?

Irish Beauty Show Haul

Wednesday, 11 March 2015

On Sunday I ventured up to the RDS in Dublin for the Irish Beauty Show 2015. I was really excited about it as I'd heard some great things in the couple months leading up to it. The show certainly did not disappoint. There was amazing deals on all the stands, and I'm actually kind of sad I didn't pick up more!
The First thing I bought was 'The Nima Mitt'. Nima is a relatively new Irish brand, and the girls at stand were so nice and helpful. This was only €5 and claims to remove even the most long wearing makeup. I'm very excited to give this a go and you can expect a review on it in the very near future.

Next I made my way over to the Blank Canvas stand which, as the day went on, got more and more difficult to get anywhere near. It was swarmed with people. As I was deciding which brush I wanted, I met the lovely Sinead Cady, from 'The Makeup Chair. She was so incredibly lovely to chat to! I picked up the E34 brush which is very soft and I'm very excited to use.

Like Blank Canvas, Fuchsia was incredibly hard to get anywhere near as it was constantly packed with people. I found the girls on the stand perfectly lovely, even though they were run off their feet. They had some really great deals going, I bought this pot of Gel Liner for just €2, and this setting spray for €8. I mainly bought the setting spray as I wanted to find a Dupe for the Urban Decay Setting spray. I did try the setting spray and It didn't exactly give an even spray, but that could just be an issue with the first couple of uses.

Were you there? What did you pick up?

Soap And Glory Supercat Eyeliner | Review

Sunday, 2 November 2014

You can never have to many liquid liners. I was shopping the other day and picked this up in boots for €8. I think that's such a steal for what this eyeliner is.
The packaging, as with most soap and glory stuff, is so cute. The only thing about the packaging is that the top of the pen doesn't click onto the bottom when you use it. A really minor thing, but its something that annoys me because it makes me afraid i'm going to lose the lid.
As for the actual liner itself, it's really dark and pigmented. It makes it really easy to get a nice thin line or a thick one depending on which you fancy. For  doing a flick on the end its super easy to use too. For me it did take a bit of getting use to because i'm not used to the whole marker scenario. Once I did get the hang of it though, I really really liked it. It lasts ages too which is always lovely.

A MAC haul.

Saturday, 4 October 2014

Last week I went to the ploughing championships, if you're not from Ireland and don't know what that is, its a massive competition and theres lots of stalls and booths where you can buy food, clothes etc. I'm pretty sure no matter where I go I can sniff out makeup and this was no exception. I managed to find a little stall selling REALLY discounted mac stuff. I'm not sure how legal or not this stuff is but it was majorly cheap so I just couldn't miss the opportunity.
The first thing I picked up was a lipstick in the shade 'Bright Pink' from the Lady Gaga collection. Its just a really pretty blue-toned pink. I'm not really a pink lipstick person but I quite liked the shade so and ,again, it was very cheap so why not?
The second item I picked up was a blush in the shade 'Dolly Mix'. In the pan it looks quite intimidating and very very bright. It can definitely go this way on the skin if you're very heavy handed with it but if you apply a very light amount it gives a really nice natural pink effect.

Review: Sleek ShowStoppers Palette

Thursday, 3 October 2013

Hey guys! So Recently I picked up the sleek ShowStoppers Palette from Cloud10 Beauty. The Palette is limited addition so if you are interested in it, I would defiantly act quick!
The Packaging the Palette first comes in is a little box with the crushed eyeshadows on it. Quite The Gruesome scene. When You take the actual palette out of the packaging its in quite ' sleek' ( See what I did there;) ) Nice looking packaging and is presented really well.

Outer Packaging

Theres a really good range of colours and neutrals and also shimmer and matte shades. My personal Favourite shimmer shade being Sunset which is a nice shimmery slightly burgandy colour and Bohemian is my favorite matt shade which is a nice coral colour which will be beautiful in the spring time. From the research I have done before doing buying this product I have discovered that this is the first sleek palette in which the shades have been given individual names.

The Overall Pigmentation of the palette is good although I found it very hard to get any colour payoff from Paraguaya. Also when i applied graphite to the lid it went from being a sparkly brown colour to a dark grey shade. A bit Odd if you ask me. But overall I really Liked this palette the shades are long lasting and Pigmented( for the most part). The only real problem i've come across is a little bit of fall out and also the colours do crease. Even After all the Cons of this product I Would still really recommend this palette.
Swatches

Sparkle on the lid and Graphite in the crease.
Pro's

  • Good Range Of neutrals and colours
  • Good range of shimmers and mattes
  • Inexpensive
  • Good Packaging
Cons:

  • Creases easily
  • Some Shades don't apply as they appear in the pan
  • Some shades aren't that pigmented

Review: Essence EyeShadow Quattro

Sunday, 23 December 2012

Hey Guys, so today I thought I would review my favorite eye shadow 'pallet'. Its The Essence eye shadow Quattro in 05 'To Die For'

Just a little overview of the Pallet

The four colours in this pallet Consist of A light shimmey brow bone Highlight shade,A champagne all over lid colour, a shimmery light-ish brown, and an almost matt but still a tiny bit shimmery darker brown colour.

Natural Collection Eye Shadow In 'Barley'

As for how I use these colours, I usually use them to do a light Gold toned smokey that works for either Day or night. I use the Champagne colour as an All over Lid colour. Once i have done this i layer the Natural collection eye shadow in 'Barley' (As Pictured Above). I use this shade to add a bit more sparkle to the overall look. Once I have done this I the take the lighter brown shade on a Fluffy blending brush and take it lightly threw the crease and then blend it outwards towards the outer the corner of the eye. Then I take the Darker brown shade on the same brush (I feel this helps it blend better) and just blend it lightly to the outer corner. I then Finish with a light line of the double ended eyeliner marker from Essence and a coat of 'City Curl' Mascara by NYC.

Overall I quite like this Pallet. The Pigmentation is quite Good in most colours, the only one that I feel the Pigmentation could be improved on is in the lighter brown shade as it can become a bit harder to work with at times. Other than that I have no Real complaints about this pallet. I would Give it 9/10 for the simple reason that i felt that it wasn't 100% foolproof but for its very low price point I would defiantly look into getting one.
