Catrice Liquid Metal Eyeshadows

Monday, 7 September 2015

I've been admiring this range of shadows for a while now, and I got these two as a gift from my cousin I was delighted. The lighter shade 010 Look me in the ice is obviously the more wearable of the two, but the navy shade 110 Underworld Evolution is just stunning and I can't wait to find a way to use it. When used dry the shadows are a bit crumbly and are more like a sheer glitter, but when i spritzed some of my fuchsia makeup setting spray onto my brush and using the shadows wet, you achieve a much more pigmented look.

Some Great Summer Products

Wednesday, 27 May 2015

Summer is fast approaching and I've started to break out some products that I loved last summer and some that I know I will love this summer coming. A product that I love is the Essence silky touch blush in the shade autumn peach. Its a gorgeous coral shade which isn't too overpowering. It was a staple in my makeup routine last year, and I'm sure it will be again this year. Next is the seventeen skin wow! highlighter, I've spoken very highly about this already. Theres a full review here
This Revlon nearly naked foundation may look about 2939232 shades too dark for me but its actually a pretty good shade for when i'm tan. I can't wait to give this a proper trial run over the summer. Finally I have the seven shimmer bricks in gold bronze. I've spoken about these before. They're frickin' amazing. Between this and the skin wow! highlighter, it greats the dynamic duo of all highlighters. Trust me, its good.

What are you're favourite summer beauty products?

Review | The Nima Mitt

Saturday, 14 March 2015

If you saw my last post you'll know that I went to the Irish Beauty Show and I picked this up there. Whilst I was at the Nima stand, I spotted this. I'd seen it on line and wrongly assumed it was similar to Sigma brush cleaning mitt. This was described as something to take off even the most long wearing makeup and without irritating the most sensitive of skin. I bought it because it was only €5 and I couldn't really go wrong for that price. Before trying this, I did think it was more of a novel product. I'm afraid that was just a show offer and usually it is 9.95 but there is an offer on their website now where it is €5. Once its out of the packaging it feels very soft, so much so, that I honestly didn't think it would remove much makeup. I used this to take off my everyday school makeup which isn't a lot but my mascara (Urban Decay Perversion) can be a total bitch to get off sometimes. I used this with some warm water in the shower and straight away, makeup started to come off. It came off with very little rubbing and absolutely no irritation whatsoever. A few eyelashes did come out when taken off my eye makeup but i'm pretty sure that was down to user error more than anything else. Honestly my skin has never felt so clean, as when I used this. Once you've removed all your makeup all you have to do is just wash it out with some soap and leave it to dry.

I honestly didn't expect to like this half as much as I did. If you read my blog a lot you'll know that I have very sensitive skin, and this definitely did not irritate it at all. The fabric used to make this is very delicate, so I could see you having to replace it after a few months, but for the price can you really complain? It is the price of a decent pack of after all. Its seriously quick to do, literally 2 mins including washing the mitt.

I would definitely recommend checking this out if you're in the market for a new makeup remover. You can get it here
Will you be picking this up?

Artistry Signature Colour Lipstick* | First Impressions

Wednesday, 18 February 2015

Recently I was sent the Artistry signature colour lipstick in the shade 'coral sunrise'. The outer cardboard packaging is somewhat average and does not co-ordinate at all with the actual packaging of the lipstick. Thankfully the inside of the box has instructions on how to open the tube. You have to twist it a certain way, but the packaging looks and feels very expensive and luxurious. I had it around my mam and she actually commented on how pretty the packaging is. The colour is not something I would wear everyday personally as I tend to wear more berry colours. It is going to be very pretty for spring/summer. These retail for around the €25 mark. I would love to try more of these in different colours because even though they are quite pricy they are great quality.

*This was sent to me for my consideration however i'm a not bullish*t sort of person so you know this is as honest as it gets*

Review | Seventeen Makeup Brushes

Saturday, 17 January 2015

For christmas I received this brush set from 17 from my friend Ava. I have to say the quality of the brushes really did surprise me. They're quite sturdy to hold and feel like they're very high quality. My favourite brush out of the set is probably the brush labelled 'Cheeks'. Its really dense and is great for contour. It gives you a really nice chiselled look without being to harsh as it sort of blends as you apply product. I would also be really nice to apply cream blush too. The eye brushes are great also, they all apply colour really nicely and blend really well. I've used they so many times and I've had no fall out from them at all.

I'm pretty sure these were a set made just for christmas, so if you see them in the boots sale I would definitely recommend picking them up!

Have you tried these? What do you think?

Review | Urban Decay Perversion Mascara

Saturday, 10 January 2015

Recently I reviewed the Urban Decay On The Run Palette and found I really loved the 'Perversion' mascara it came with. On first impressions the packaging is really nice and sleek. When you take out the brush from the tube you'll see its quite a big plastic wand. I really didn't think I would like this mascara from just looking at it because I thought it would give me quite thick clumpy lashes which isn't something I like. I prefer my lashes to be nice and long but very separated.

When I first used this I was pleasantly surprised. It makes my lashes very long and thick but also very separated. Naturally I have quite long lashes but this brings them to a whole other level. My mam liked the look of it on me so much she went and bought it for herself. However, she did love the look it gave her lashes but it did run a little on her. So that might be something to bear in mind if you're prone to that.

It's definitely my new favourite mascara and is a staple in my makeup routine. Once my small size runs out I'll definitely be buying the full size.

Have you tried it? Did you like it?

A MAC haul.

Saturday, 4 October 2014

Last week I went to the ploughing championships, if you're not from Ireland and don't know what that is, its a massive competition and theres lots of stalls and booths where you can buy food, clothes etc. I'm pretty sure no matter where I go I can sniff out makeup and this was no exception. I managed to find a little stall selling REALLY discounted mac stuff. I'm not sure how legal or not this stuff is but it was majorly cheap so I just couldn't miss the opportunity.
The first thing I picked up was a lipstick in the shade 'Bright Pink' from the Lady Gaga collection. Its just a really pretty blue-toned pink. I'm not really a pink lipstick person but I quite liked the shade so and ,again, it was very cheap so why not?
The second item I picked up was a blush in the shade 'Dolly Mix'. In the pan it looks quite intimidating and very very bright. It can definitely go this way on the skin if you're very heavy handed with it but if you apply a very light amount it gives a really nice natural pink effect.

High end makeup wish list #2

Sunday, 21 September 2014

Recently i've noticed my self lusting after quite a few high end items. Recently I've been  really wanting to try something from Charlotte Tilbury. The packaging is absolutely fab! Plus i've heard some really great things about the range too!
The next thing on my list is the Marc Jacob's Daisy dream perfume. Like wise I've heard a lot about this, having smelt the rest of the perfumes in this range and really liked them, from the description of this, I think I will really like this. and the packaging is enough to win me over anyway.
I was in MAC yesterday and spotted the full face kits. They're really good value for money, on the box itself it said the total value was €90 and it was being sold for €60. Plus I think they'd be great for travelling.  The final thing on my list is some Zoeva brushes. I've heard some really great things about these and they seem relatively inexpensive for the quality too.

Whats on your high end makeup wish list?

Review: Sleek ShowStoppers Palette

Thursday, 3 October 2013

Hey guys! So Recently I picked up the sleek ShowStoppers Palette from Cloud10 Beauty. The Palette is limited addition so if you are interested in it, I would defiantly act quick!
The Packaging the Palette first comes in is a little box with the crushed eyeshadows on it. Quite The Gruesome scene. When You take the actual palette out of the packaging its in quite ' sleek' ( See what I did there;) ) Nice looking packaging and is presented really well.

Outer Packaging

Theres a really good range of colours and neutrals and also shimmer and matte shades. My personal Favourite shimmer shade being Sunset which is a nice shimmery slightly burgandy colour and Bohemian is my favorite matt shade which is a nice coral colour which will be beautiful in the spring time. From the research I have done before doing buying this product I have discovered that this is the first sleek palette in which the shades have been given individual names.

The Overall Pigmentation of the palette is good although I found it very hard to get any colour payoff from Paraguaya. Also when i applied graphite to the lid it went from being a sparkly brown colour to a dark grey shade. A bit Odd if you ask me. But overall I really Liked this palette the shades are long lasting and Pigmented( for the most part). The only real problem i've come across is a little bit of fall out and also the colours do crease. Even After all the Cons of this product I Would still really recommend this palette.
Swatches

Sparkle on the lid and Graphite in the crease.
Pro's

  • Good Range Of neutrals and colours
  • Good range of shimmers and mattes
  • Inexpensive
  • Good Packaging
Cons:

  • Creases easily
  • Some Shades don't apply as they appear in the pan
  • Some shades aren't that pigmented
